Doodles While Waiting and Organization

Let’s start with the need for organization.  When I don’t spend time at my work table, it tends to become a catch-all.  So looking at it this morning, instead of ignoring it once again, I decided to take a picture of it.  I guess to remind me that it really does need my attention.  It’s on my to-do list for this afternoon.

Yesterday, my husband got wood dust in his eye and had to have it looked at by a doctor.  Fortunately they found no damage and he should be fine in a few days.  So  while I was waiting for him at the doctor’s, I did some doodling.

This is what I keep in my pocketbook at all times.  It is almost a 5×7 plastic box that is about one and a quarter inch thick.  I keep two Micron black ink pens (01 & 005) and a small stack of paper I have cut to fit.  The surface of the little box  works as my table top and I can use it anywhere!  I really like having it handy, especially when I find myself with no interesting reading material while waiting.

A rainy day and my sketchbook

Today is a rainy day, almost constant rain and this meant that everyone was home and I was free to draw.  So I did!  It has been awhile since I have worked in my sketchbook; so it needed working in.  I have thirty-some-odd pages to fill and I have given myself until the end of the year.  That may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t.  And I promised you a picture this time so here it is.  I used Micron ink pens in black and red and watercolors.  I usually work with a fine tip brush when I use watercolors and don’t usually need to cover a large area; so I grabbed one of my granddaughter’s brushes.  Note to self; buy a better brush for bigger areas!

The rain will continue into tomorrow they say and I am hoping to work on the aprons.  Friday will be here sooner than I think and I need to get busy!
